Hints & Tips

Here are some useful Mini Tips for you to try.

GREAT GRASS

For Realistic grass use different shades of scenic grass from a Railway or Model Shop mixed up in a bag. Paint the area to be grassed with PVA glue and sprinkle the grass mixture over the glue leave to dry then knock off the excess. To get a stripey lawn mix two bags of scenic grass up with one being darker than the other. Using masking tape mask off strips, paint the unmasked areas with PVA glue, then sprinkle the grass from one bag and tap off when dry. Carefully remove the masking tape and paint the blank areas with PVA glue and sprinkle the Scenic grass from the second bag. Again when dry tap of excess leaving a stripey lawn.

HUNDRED AND ONE THINGS TO DO WITH A LOLLY STICK

Number 39 - Picket Fencing

* Please be very careful with sharp knives *

Work out how many uprights you will need to make your fence. Cut one end off of each Lolly stick to the required length and discard. If you want a fancier fence then cut to different lengths. Cut a number of lolly sticks in half length-ways and then cut off the rounded ends, these are for your horizontal bars. Lay out the fencing as desired and then glue the horizontal pieces on to form a fence panel. Finally paint or stain the panels.
